Merritt Rockin’ River Fest brings together Canadian Country Music Association and JUNO award-winning talent

June 28, 2016

More than 50 CCMA and JUNO awards and nominations shared between the fest’s roster of performers coming to Merritt July 28-31

The best in country music talent is getting ready to rock the Coldwater River in Merritt with a roster of artists whose collective achievements add up to more than 50 Canadian Country Music Association (CCMA) and JUNO nominations and wins.

“The calibre of these performers we have lined-up for this year is nothing short of extraordinary. All of them have achieved award-winning status of some distinction, making this year’s summer fan-favourites festival the one you cannot afford to miss,” says festival president, founder and legendary entertainer himself Kenny Hess.

Group or Duo of the Year, Video of the Year, and Rising Star are just a few of the nominations and awards the Merritt Rockin’ River Fest artists have earned throughout the years. From July 28-31, they are performing under the same stage in Merritt that sits beside some of the most picturesque scenery in the province.

Among these award winning Canadian artists are Dean Brody who has been nominated over 30 times himself, The Road Hammers and High Valley.

Rising-to-the-top B.C. star Madeline Merlo, who just released her newest single War Paint last week, is one of the closing show highlights for the final day of the show. The recipient of the 2015 Rising Star award at the CCMA Awards, Merlo currently has 1.4 Million Spotify Streams, and was the only country artist chosen for Spotify Canada’s Spotlight 2016, putting her on the radar of country- and pop-music lovers alike.
